Creating Jobs Frank Farry knows that the best way to grow our economy is to make sure small businesses can create jobs. That’s why Frank has fought so hard against billions of new taxes and higher spending. The Democrats in Harrisburg last year voted to raise taxes by over a billion dollars. Frank helped lead the fight against their tax increases, and voted against every single one of them. Frank also stoop up to his own party to support legislation that will create 1,000 new jobs right here in Bucks County. Farry worked with both parties to pass the table games bill, which will create jobs for lower Bucks residents at the PARX casino. As your State Representative, Frank will keep working to be an independent voice in Harrisburg that puts creating jobs and our community first. Fighting Wasteful Spending Frank also worked hard to end the Democrats bloated budgets and wasteful spending. He voted against two budgets that raised taxes by half a billion dollars and was loaded with wasteful spending. Instead, Frank supported budgets that cut waste and eliminated the state’s deficit. He also supported legislation that would put money aside each year to refill the rainy day fund. Frank is looking forward to working with Governor Tom Corbett to get to work balancing the state’s budget and fighting against any new broad based tax increases. Frank believes we need to have a team in Harrisburg who are willing to balance our budgets without doing it entirely on the backs of taxpayers. Lowering The Property Tax Burden When Frank Ran for State Representative, he promised that he would always work to put the community first. That’s why he worked with leaders of both parties to craft a bill that will lead to significant school property tax relief for homeowners here in Lower Bucks. In addition, Frank worked to pass an amendment that will lower property taxes for disabled veterans who have given so much to our country. Frank also supports school reforms that will lower property taxes by joining Governor Rendell in supporting a bill that would consolidate school health care benefits, saving the taxpayers $900 million. Frank would have the district devote 100% of this savings to lower property taxes. Supports School Reforms Frank believes it is the responsibility of every school district to provide a quality education at a price taxpayers can afford. Recently there has been a labor dispute in the Neshaminy School District that is threatening to shut down our schools. Frank Farry supports HB 1369, the strike free education bill, so that we never lose sight of the fact that the most important interest in our education system is our children’s interest. Frank supports making the bargaining process more open and transparent. This would allow for greater public input and specific timelines. This will not only help the taxpayers, but it will also help all stakeholders in this endeavor through greater transparency of the process. Frank has also been a leader on pension reform, introducing a series of bills that would use some of the Marcellus Shale money to help offset the oncoming pension crisis. Frank will continue to work to reform out education system so that teachers are better able to help educate our children, because at the end of the day the education debate has to be about our kids. |
